A Poem Without Words Poem by Denise Spence

A Poem Without Words

A poem without words...
It shoulded absurd
and I'm guessing it really was.
Should it laugh, should it rhyme,
keep a beat, stay in line.
Should I write it if only because.
And I screamed, ' No, no, no, it's really not so! '
and I tried to forget it in time.
But it would not go away in my mind,
it would stay till my thought
were all jumbled in bend.
But what could I do without
words to ring true?
Could a poem without words
make it richer?
Then a voice said to me,
You don't write it, you see.
You paint it and call it picture.
