A Poet's Deferred Soul Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

A Poet's Deferred Soul

Rating: 4.0

Weaving emotions into words and thoughts
Flashing heartfelt sensations and feelings
Reciting the verses coming from heart
Poetic prowess, rich imagery present
Ability to be a sole voice of the people
Feeling not proud of a fake or fraud life
But, the handwork of own head and heart.

This or that look shall not remain
A long distancing association-
To all friends with love and care
Hanging on there for pretty good time
Lifting up spirits but not for ever-
Becoming indifferent towards culture
Moving about in search of a heritage-
In those greener meadows and pastures.

Zooming into sights and sounds
The beauties of nature outside
On the bright side up and about
True devotion thereto in motion
Being stranger to the unique world
To loved ones deeply connected with
Getting down the lanes of nostalgia-
Singing, a poet's lonely deferred soul.
