A Poets Prayer Poem by Terri Ann Stone

I pray angel of mystical light
watch over me through the night
with wings of many colors.
As I slumber,
chase away the nightmares
with a single kiss.
Let your golden hair fall
all around me,
brushing the strokes of
whimsical words
in my mind again
so I can write the poems
That bring my poverty to halt.
Come back to me
oh angel of mercy
help me end my tiredness.
To dream dreams of wondrous light
work with me through the night
and when daylight breaks
I shall awake
yet like a new man
With victorious poetic device.
