A Prayer For Morning Light - Poem by Shalom Freedman

In the silence of the sadness
There is a prayer for morning light
For Life to begin again
For Hope to be the predominant note of life

In the silence of the dark night
There is a waiting for light
Light as Life
Hope as the morning
As beginning of a new day
As beginning of the world again

Time after time after time
Day after day after day
For so many years
Waiting for light
Having the light come again
Beginning and hoping and trying to live
In a good and happy way.
