A Princess's Tale Poem by Saleh Ben Saleh

A Princess's Tale

In only a few words I will tell you a tale, of our lovely princess nightingale

The king's life has become a living hell, in every temple you can hear the bell

The royal guard in his hand was holding, a magic torch with colours exploding

The wicked witch has returned from hell, onto the crowned princess she had cast a spell

From this evil curse they all fail to hide, after the sun in mid sky had died

Even the flowers when touched were cold, it was a dream bringing life to this world

Only the moon lit our night and day, the wicked witch was here to stay

The good king shouted to the people in fear, our wretched earth will soon disappear

The wicked witch laughed as she stood in the aisle, on her evil face was a develouse smile

The white wizards rituals had already begun, the curse will be lifted when moon covers sun

The wizards rituals came to a stop, as the foam in his pot rose to the top

A dark figure appeared from nowhere in disguise, with an evil glare deep in his eyes

It looked around and said in a raspy voice, I am here to take the witch down below, where heaven forsakes evil
