A Puff Of Air Poem by Marcia Schechinger

A Puff Of Air

Rating: 5.0

When breath is staggered
dry parched lips are tight
eyes swollen
I retreat

to the water and sand
where birds stand
erect and proud
seemly quiet

Here I breathe
and renew myself
with lack of noise
in my head
and ears

Reviewing the beauty
of man and nature
Ignoring the structures
that work us
to the bone

Where clouds are
stagnant, almost
sighing
relax, find comfort
in me

Then the breeze whispers
this is your moment
to shine
and I, finally,
take in a puff of air
