A Punishment Poem by Rabindra Paudel

A Punishment

I said, "Your voice is the panacea -
My soul aches no more."

A punishment: she dropped the phone;
Now silence's compiling on
and thoughts
reel
For pain's excruciating pulses:

She won't ever call me again
Nor the heart be free of pain!
