A Rain Dropp In The Fire Which Is My Heart Poem by anna mavrogiannakis

A Rain Dropp In The Fire Which Is My Heart

he turns away with haste
my smile does not work with him
its lost in the sea of cold autumn air that separates us
I could cut the air, its so thick with distrust and anger
we make each other believe this is friendship
who are we fooling? each other?
I want to break away
but im scared of not knowing you
we were supposed to be forever
never ending
what happened to our hopes and dreams?
have i given them to her?
my heart aches for you
i wake is the silence of the dark waiting to find you beside me
but those days are over
just like our love
your lies and deceit never weigh you down
youve found your self and ive lost myself trying to find you
but i will never find you
i will be consumed with anger
i feel like a fool
tricked by the eyes of her lover
i need to forget you
you are the rain dropp in the fire which is my heart.
