You were the Day,
the rise to Summer
Beauty as endless
as the sea
Your voice
the purrs of a kitten
Your words
wisdom of heaven
Your smile
the cure to misanthropy
Your presence was a campsite
weaved by fireflies
where the comfort of chirps
embraced every sigh.
where Northern Lights
brightened every heart.
I was the Night,
devoid of sight
where the Winters
chilled my heart
a boy lost
in the oceans
my colours of the world
wiped out by cyclones
Where I was exiled
to the ballroom of shadows
My path an abyss,
future bathed in fog
My moon
covered in scars.
My burdens
hurled at the stars.
Until
a spark shimmered in the sky.
I gazed upon Dawn
wings of a Goddess
with Sun in hand
you became
my Lighthouse
and brought peace
to the land
your counsel
breathed life into me
your stroke of silk
mended my moon
returning the light of the night.
the warmth of your visage
released the stars from my fears
as the waterfall of colours,
nurtured my world.
the stars shed my wings,
the boy had become a man.
The world would become our eternity.
Then my memories became dreams.
the hourglass shattered.
I woke up
Without my Sun
I returned to the Dark.
I begged the rainbows, clouds and stars
For help.
They answered in silence.
I spoke to you among the crows for eons.
Until
I felt your breeze
cuddle my anxieties.
I felt your rain
collect my tears
blowing it into the wind.
With hope returning to my wings,
I realised,
the angels needed their Queen.
I was never abandoned.
I brush off the mahogony dust.
I sip the pain swirled in tequila,
one last time.
I've stopped
chasing rainbows.
I've stopped
seeking stars.
I've stopped
reaching for clouds.
Because I Know
when I return to the moon,
I'll be reunited with your Light,
Forever.
Thank you
for crossing over
to the night.
