A Red Dog Poem by Alexander Julian

A Red Dog

A red dog crawled on the bed.
It grew horns and began smelling over each cover.
The angel in bed shook on his pillow and drew those blankets nearer.
He kept himself from view while the dog moved in agony.
Suddenly, the devil above pulled his dog by the chain into heavens and left flames.
Eventually sleep came for the angel and the devil's dog rose to four winds.
