A Scattered Mind Poem by Demontray Lockhart

A Scattered Mind

Dormant is the room and everything lay where it may.
Things, stuff, devices and contraptions all placed at will.
No grand jury needed to decide placement or faith.
The outcome is indubitably rested on the shoulders of Jill.

She, with her flamboyant self, has her items scattered.
They are scattered about her living quarters with little
Forethought. Her overcoat lay over antiquated texts,
Leaving the bookshelf bear and hangers companionless.

She too feels alone with her mind scattered about on
Nonsense fixations, such as the ants that are scattered
About her place, running in zigzag to find their mates.
She looks hopelessly at the ants as she place foot to body,

Devouring the creatures with one step. They move with the
Last hope of fulfilling their duty. A cause that's innately bestowed
On such creatures. But Jill, without a purpose, sits there watching,
As the ants loose all function and control and becomes scattered remains.
