A Secret - Poem by Correina MacRae

I have a secret
Locked deep inside,
That no one else
Must know.
I try to let it out
And tell someone,
But out it cannot go.

It’s about someone
Once close to me,
Who pushed the limits
Of grotesque.
Now this secret
Burns my soul, it will
Not let me rest.

You forced yourself upon me,
You put your hands where they
Should not be.
Your words hit me like a bullet,
When you said, “You should in my bed,
Come join me.”

When I said, “No”
I think you thought
It was just a joke.
Then it happened two more times
Now ruining my dignity and pride.
I hope your happy now
That you have torn me
Apart inside.
