A Secret Lover Poem by Dana Amer

A Secret Lover

He seemed so lovely,
So innocent & handsome,
When he was walking towards me,
Chewing a bubble gum!

Oh, he captured my affection,
& quietly stole my heart,
I can't take my eyes of him,
He's got my full attention! !

A ten-year-old boy,
A young orphan you are,
How you can spread such joy,
In my weeping eyes? !

'Don't weep! ! ' he said,
Let go of memories that bother you,
No, it's not the end,
It's just life teaching me & you!

No, young orphan i won't
Forget you as long as i'll live
Your spot will be saved in my heart
& for no one else i shall give! ! !
