A Secret Room Poem by Arno Le Roux

A Secret Room

A Secret Room

A room to be private and to care,
A place your inner soul lay bare,
A sanctum protected somewhere,
A place your other self to share,

The self you hide from worldly taste,
The self that others will only waste,
The hidden hideout where you lace,
The essence of your soul embrace,

In the early hours of another day,
Prepare your mind before the play,
Make it strong to fight the way,
For evil others before you lay,

The wise words of a man long dead:
Be slow to fall into friendship your head,
But if you do - do so with your all - he said,
Guard trusting whispers till you lay your head
