A Simple Life Poem by Melody Song

A Simple Life

Rating: 5.0

While reading in my hammock
About Bilbo and his ring,
I thought about his simple life
Before going journeying.

I thought how they weren't advanced
Although they could have been,
And how they enjoyed family past
And kept up with all their kin.

Enjoying things like farming
For food and simplicity,
Giving gifts on your birthdays
Oh, that's how it used to be.

Those simple times held no war;
They flourished in times of peace.
In times when you said good morning
To make someone's bad mood cease.

Why can't life be simple now,
Like how hobbits lived back then?
Enjoying life for what it was
Unlike most lives of men.
