A Song Needing Sung Poem by Clyde Hagee

A Song Needing Sung

Like a dark night with no moonlight, a day without sun,
A book without an ending, or a song needing sung.
Oh, darling please listen as I tell you a tale
About a new born love, it is one that won't fail.
I am a truckdriver, I travel this land.
Three days in one town, no more can I stand.
The first time that I saw you my heartbeat stood still.
Now I know true love and forevermore will.
If I gave up driving and tried not to roam.
to be a good husband and always stay home.
Through all my life I have never stayed still,
Cannot truly promise that I always will.
But if you can love me, take me as I have been,
Our love will last forever, forever don't end.
