A Souls Deep Predicament Poem by Cherelie Bonsadan

A Souls Deep Predicament

Coldness embraces the alleys
As we walk through them
Has the later conversation made you still?

It’s been a while we drove along
Still deep thoughts covered your soul
And so I made no noise at first too
I know it then bothered you

Winter like air and the deafening silence I cannot endure
Is like waking from a nightmare and I quiver
Ah, speak my dear friend
Speak for your souls deep predicaments

You lean over me
Then you say sorry
I look you in the eyes
Then I never hesitate to say it’s okay

That revelation had somewhat hurt me
Through that was a month ago
But guess what, it’s a fair duel!
Coz I did the same too

I never wanted to look stupid
You never told me and it hurt, so ignore you
I knew very well since the day came what you’re going through
It’s not only me but you who made space between us two.
