A Spark In The Dark Poem by Romano Rossouw

In the silence, I hear my heart ache
that caused my breath to shake
A whispered cry of despair
that echoes through the air
A lonely scream that's muffled and apart
that can only be heard in the dark
A sorrow that's mine
caused me to believe that I'm blind
A wound that's left its mark
left me standing alone at a dusty ark
when all I'm looking for is a spark
but it's impossible
because I'm drowning, surrounded by a shark

A hand reaches out
telling me not to shout
because it wants to help me out
As I stand on solid ground
I still don't make a sound
as I look u in the eyes
I don't see a single lie
a gratitude I've never known
but now, it's starting to be shown
U could've flown
but u didn't want to leave me alone
I knew u were a true friend
u were there from the beginning to the end
