A Story To Write Poem by Oladimeji Hakeem Olayinka

A Story To Write

Once upon a midnight dreary,
At the time the sunset bellow the horizon.
Coalesce of ethno-racial and divergent religion,
Flitted across the streets, chanting,
And unharmed against the authority.
The height of our youth glows and our heroes past reels.

A generation that weaponized digital media.
Against rogue chieftains that reside in Aso Rock.
In the creepy night the God of creation they sang.
Comes the obeisance zombie of the Chief.
The blood of the unarmed dotted the plain.
Separate dying like ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
And drench our misty eyes on winter sorrow.

Part ii

Oh! In this land of drought ruled by oblivious emperor
I say! In this land of drought ruled by oblivious emperor

Anarchy patrols the streets!
Anarchy patrols the streets!
Anarchy patrols the streets!

Oh! Criminal in khaki have seized the tollgates ewooh! ewooh!
I say Criminal in khaki have seized the tollgates ewooh! ewooh!

Morbid orgies and their rivers of blood- beneath the tollgate
Death marches on with madness in tow
Command by potbellied prebends
Oozing words like the tunes of a twisted pig
And a general who drunk on beer and the blood of young graduates.
