A Street Cat Named Bob Poem by Pierre Rausch

A Street Cat Named Bob

Pulled of someone's clothesline
Waved the piece of sheet music in front of his face
Settling the cat on my lap
Maybe I am more of an outsider then I realize

A street cat named Bob
Was stretched out, eyes closed
I stroked that fur
Most likely engaged in something

She carried the cat out to the porch
Set him on the bench
And set beside him on that bench
Maybe learn a little more about cats

A street cat named Bob
Was stretched out, eyes closed
I stroked that fur
Most likely engaged in something

I am the end of the flower box
I could see fur and claws
I put fresh milk out for the cat
But it was the eagle who drove it

A street cat named Bob
Was stretched out, eyes closed
I stroked that fur
Most likely engaged in something
