A Super Moon Poem by Naveed Khalid

A Super Moon

A Super Moon

I'd never let you get away with this,
no matter whichever way you think;
and have my words by the majestic sun,
that nowhere but in my verse thy presence,
else be a witness to this world forlorn,5
of broken mast-shaft at north my shipwrecked dream
calls for a day in autumn of thy book;
such darling insights in fair aspect of cold repose:
A snow-capped myrtle peak looks me through day's old rhetoric:
for where once you tread thy feet along the pavement of cow parsley; 10
I've set this path for thee that furrowed field,
hath full fathom five thy battled bones:
still to my decaying form abide that masonry's night;
a fight broke-out in the grave for a thousand roses farewell, my love,
beside the oak, a wrecked boat is sailing away from high heavens,15
by savannah's lake, a broccoli, is at the gallows of thy feet under the bolted sky,
the rest would follow at my door in the late evening.
