A Sweet Escape Poem by Sumita Jetley

A Sweet Escape

In a cozy kitchen, sunlight streams,
A peaceful scene like woven dreams.
An Indian maiden, with a gentle grace,
A soft smile lighting up her face.

In her hand, a spoon so small,
Yet it holds the joy that conquers all.
A black forest cake, her sweetest muse,
Each bite a treasure, she cannot refuse.

The table's adorned with delights galore,
Rasgoolas, gulab jamuns, and pastries to adore.
Traditional flavors, a modern flair,
A blend of bliss beyond compare.

Her pastel kurta sways so light,
In the warm embrace of golden light.
A brass lamp glimmers by the side,
As dessert and serenity sweetly collide.

For in her world, indulgence reigns,
No need for guilt, no thought of chains.
Each bite a moment, pure and true,
Life's sweetest joys, she'll see them through.

So here she stands, a dessert's delight,
Turning simple days into purest light.
In every spoonful, she finds her part—
A taste of heaven, a piece of heart.
