A Temptation Of Arrogance Poem by RIC BASTASA

A Temptation Of Arrogance

Rating: 5.0

i am tempted
to feel like a shoestring

shutting a foot inside
the shoe

i am ten feet above you
ashed ass

hole in the black
universe

you will be in
my own outlook of stars

i am tempted to be
your god

and you are
a foot stool

but i am humbled because
of the
unsinkable titanic
easily torn by the side-tip of
an iceberg

that night when God
was sleeping

when
with what was said

woke him up
into anger

so divine that it wiped
out

a thousand lives
in that cold and dark night
in the ocean
of Atlantic.
