Lord of our days
You who hold us
Beyond the worries of our families
Grant the peace of prayer
To still fierce doubts
That our spirits may come to yours.
Bless in these days of Thanksgiving
A heart with eyes to see
The wonder in the common place
Joy to feel that which we can not touch
And faith that defies the power in death.
May our pets protect us
From the sterileness of life
May your word guide us
Around fleas that bite
And wounds that infect.
May we know that peace
That is greater than the circumstance of the day
And may we truly be thankful
For every blessing great and small that comes.
Amen.
