A Thing Divided Poem by Tom Ziegler

A Thing Divided

A thing divided
Can not tear
For any hole felt
Is never really there
A thing divided
Will somehow stand above the rest
Ready for anything
Longing to be the best
A thing divided
Will come together someday
Distance and time
Hold no grudges
Such is life
N' it's many smudges
A thing divided
Is never really apart
But it does take two
To make it start
A thing divided
In the dark
Will find the shore
From here
To eternities door
A thing divided
Can sail the Seven Sea's
Stand the test of time
And bring you to your knees
