A Thorn In A Flesh Poem by Naseeru Taneemu Annuree

A Thorn In A Flesh

Somewhere in a windy desert
There was an oasis
Badly covered beneath the dumps of dust
Like a needle lost in the sea

Somewhere in a windy desert
A thirsty vulture hovers up and down
Trying to escape the arrows of scorching sun
With dust all over its claws

Somewhere in a windy desert Python laid waiting for the vulture
Neigning angrily like an injured horse
With its head burried in the sand

Somewhere in a windy desert
A hungry hyena laid in ambush
Breathing slowly like a snail
While waiting for a prey that never come

In the windy desert
Somewhere a hunter shot his spear
But the howling wind carried it away
And the dusty sand splashed in awe

Somewhere in the windy desert
The sky above darkened with black cloud
And the thunder shouted in anger
For the simple rain that never come

Somewhere in the windy desert
I stood between fear and wonder
In the absent of light the darkness still suffer
Just like a desert without an oasis

Darkness cannot survive without light
But can the light survive without darkness?
Somewhere in the windy desert
I found myself lost in the dark

just like a thorn in a flesh
Light cannot do without darkness
And everywhere in the windy desert
Had the reasons written all over it....
