A Thousand Egos Poem by Sylvia Chidi

A Thousand Egos

Glimmer Slimmer Dimmer
Glitter Wither Bitter
I am swimming with my ego
Sinking deep as if there is no flow
Did you know?
I have a thousand egos

Glimmer Slimmer Dimmer
Glitter Wither Bitter
Don't talk to me low
I don't want to know
I don't want a row or a blow
You may raise your eyebrows
For I am swimming with my ego

I desire a brexit
I wish an exit
My competitors have admitted defeat
My long term personal goals are neat
The masses have no wit
So I shall laugh and sit

I have a thousand egos
That tell me compromise is a no no no
I have a thousand egos
That say stubbornness is the way to flow
Perhaps for my ego there is no tomorrow
But the seeds I sow will hurt many quite slow
That for sure is a fact I quietly know

Glimmer Slimmer Dimmer
Glitter Wither Bitter
Soon many will cry for yesterday
And I will sigh silently for a better day
