A Time Is Coming. Poem by Okoemu Okoemu Okoemu

A Time Is Coming.

When you were a little girl
When you were a little boy
Mama and papa were there
Saying to you talk well
Dress well and walk well
Behave well and do well;
Now you are a grown up
Boy and girl
Baba and mama talked to you,
Old man sitting on the bench talked to you,
Old lady sitting on the bench
Talked to you,
It is all disturb and all boring
No father and mother till night fall,
A time is coming, you will seek for them to advise you,
Seek for them to talk to you
You won't find them nor see them;
You will stand by the window looking toward the horizon, all by yourself,
You will lie on your bed, wet your pillow with your tears, all by yourself;
Then you will say, had I know.
You won't know now, for mama say that skirt is too short and mini, the short not bum is not an outside wear,
The suit is but for swimming not for strolling,
You won't know now, for papa say, don't put that trouser on your buttock, put it on your waist, don't wear a torn trousers, remove the earring it is only for women,
No, you won't hear so.
Morning is not eternal,
And mama and papa won't be there for too long
How so is it going to be to you?
Party not out of hand, drink not to be drunk, spend not you future in a bar and boutique;
Remember, mama and papa won't be around soon,
The world will be for you
How so, is it going to be?
