A Touch Poem by Keegan Cooke

A Touch

Everything changes from a simple touch
When it comes to this, there can never be too much
The wind slows and the waves freeze in mid crash
When the pulse of our heart beats match

I don't want just another cliche
You make my heart skip a beat
So much for originality
I want to show you something more

Something better than ever before
You're the only one who can pull me up
When my heart sinks to the floor
You're the only one who can sew me together

When my heart is torn
You are special, and it's you I adore
I'd been looking for you since the day I was born
I miss you more than you can imagine

I want to be with you no matter what happens
I want to be with you for the rest of my years
Through the pain, through the tears
Stay with me, and walk through the fears
