A Train Of Thoughts.... Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

A Train Of Thoughts....

Early morning dream leaves a train of thoughts -
how did the subconscious store the feeling;
and reveal some dry leaves upon which
I suddenly started walking
producing a crackling sound?
The bird holding a tiny grass between the beaks
absorbs sunlight in its wings
and returns some of it to the sky unlike man:
it does not have a dream, it has delight
its brightness questions this brittle life.
How can the bird be so happy?
It was just yesterday that a remembrance came to light -
all the days so fleetingly become yesterdays,
I look up to tomorrow and it refuses to oblige.

What happens to me, to us?
We walk, hordes of men -
every hour is of rush
and then, even a second refuses to oblige!
