A True Egalitarian Poem by Francis Duggan

A True Egalitarian

The Reaper of lives the one who does not spare
The lives of any celebrity and any billionaire
Isthe true egalitarian in truth one can say
From the one who wields the scythe of death nowhere to hide away
The true egalitarian most people seem to fear
And any praise of the Reaper one seldom does hear
Some will tell you the Reaper of lives is a male
Whilst others will tell you she is a female
The monarch of death claims more lives every day
A true egalitarian of her or him one can say
The one who does not respect money and fame
To the Reaper of lives rich and poor are the same
You may well be a person many celebrate
But with the one who claims all lives you must keep your date.
