two children stood talking
on a sidewalk,
time passed

what does it mean
when the end comes to the end?
beginning again
perhaps. the beginning
an end again to suit the mean.

what does that mean?
perhaps, the again began
to begin the end
that brought it all again.

which then became
the end that brought the mean?

he tipped his hat
then walked away

turning once to gaze
pausing shortly
before moving on
his way
