It was many and many a winter ago
Many too old to remember
That there lived a man By the sea
Throughout his wonderful years
He used to fish
In the great wide sea
And bring food for his daughters
Though they were poor by many
Yet they had everything
That many of us cannot find here
They had sorrow
They had happiness
They had love
They had tears
Whatever they lacked
Was brought together
By their love
That they had for each other
Until one fateful day
Came a storm so atrocious
That the whole village by the sea
Was wiped
Clear
And many say
As the sky darkened that fateful day
And as the storm approached with the tides
They could see two children singing
Calling their father to arrive home that night
And till today
If you travel the sea at night
Along the coast from here to there,
You can hear those children singing
Calling their father to return home
Before the storm had arrived
