While on one hand
I DO exercise my right to vote –
on the other hand however
I find that I am a “bad voter”.
I know who some of the candidates are -
but not really how they stand on certain issues
or what their intentions are.
All I hear from them is “the good talk”.
Sounds mighty nice to the ear –
but, if they get into office
will they follow through
or claim that you misunderstood what they said?
They all sound iffy to me.
Do THEY even know what the issues are?
They all promise certain things that everyone wants
but are vague or ignore other things that the people want also.
And HOW do they expect me to vote for them
when they say “yes” to something today,
and then say “no” to the same thing tomorrow?
I thought flip-flops were something I wore on my feet
Once inside the voting booth,
I have to make a last second decision.
And when I leave I have to remember –
I’m Bob Barci
