A Well Of Emotions! Poem by Favour David

Deep in a well within my heart, what do I see?
A swirling pool of emotions pleading to be free!
Sadness, Happiness, and Anger float above.
If only, IF ONLY! I knew how to show them some love!

What shall I do? Do I tell them to depart?
Or shall I listen to their pleas with a soft heart?
I possess the power to let the tears flow.
But will the world let me do it in a show?

The world replies with a resounding 'NO! '
Forcing my emotions to linger in a deep well below.
Will they heed my pleas after theirs was ignored?
Another echoing 'NO! ' leaves my poor spirit floored.

O WORLD! My tears can be felt!
O WORLD! Would you leave me to melt?
How cruel you are, o world!
Leaving my emotions tangled and curled!

O WORLD! I beseech you once more!
O WORLD! Overthrown by pain I implore!
My emotions are hard to retain!
Anticipating to break free from inner chains.

The world turns a deaf ear to my plea.
Keeping my emotions in a darkened sea.
Yet in this dark sea, there's a chance to find a cure,
To grip inner peace, to shatter the chains and to soar!
