A Willful Kiss To Death Poem by Bireswar Halder

A Willful Kiss To Death

This world goes round illusions, so it seems, we observe
And they coil around us making us helpless, ordinary that we are
Sometimes sages are distracted by the power of illusions
We must not be deluded by their false sparkle. We must.

A blackish but very cute baby myna a trainer nurtures with love and care
Slowly it starts speaking with his proper and rigorous persuasion
After long training, it needs no cage and gets full freedom
And it gets love and care from all the family members.

Slowly the pet learns lore of life and falls for an aged hawk.
The tricky hawk tricks the myna into snazzy dreams of a paradise
It's a hunter and looks out for new birds in its flight everyday
The myna takes for its trainer as a foe as he defies this unequal tie.

The trainer calls off all the suitable options in the myna's race to bliss
But the innocent myna blinded by love pours rage on the wise trainer
The sagacious trainer anticipates the fate of his beloved myna
No way to wrest the myna's rights, it's mature in age now.

The trainer cannot express his grief and continuous pains to public
He weeps alone thinking of the tragedy the myna has willfully invited
The crooked hawk with cruel instincts tortured mercilessly its earlier mate
Now the pet in illusion is ready to jump in the flames to kiss death like a moth.
