A Wish Poem by Heather Rhoden

A Wish

I have walked upon this Earth,
Searching for your approval.
I have lived thus far,
Remembering the unforgetable.
I have been cast out by you,
Praying to be let back in.
I have watched my setting Sun,
Willing it to rise once again.
I have been killed little by little,
Hoping for a reprieve.
I have floated throughlife,
Wishing to be seen.
I have sat away from you,
Seething with anger.
I have cried alone,
Thinking of memories that will last forever.
I ache within my soul,
With thoughts of you.
I yearn for what we had,
But it is a wish never to come true.
