A Withering song by Dennis Okyere Brako

Left in the middle of the forgotten path
The journey has come to a sudden bend
Why turn my song to a dwindling end?
My deepest affliction at the sharpened edge

Sadly, broken! My guitar strings
The Medley's slanted, I cannot sing
The drums are silent in the middle of my dance
Am deeply wounded by thunder's pounce

Was peaceful! Oh love why come along
A thing they say can never go wrong
Yet could not stand the tempest toss
Shards of sadness, am looking at my loss

Floods of the grief has overflown my soul
Floating in the distance goes my only bowl
Rain not again you cloud of uncertainty
I'm drenched enough in this rain of reality

My arrows are spent, leisurely walks my prey
I crave for comfort, I have to pray
I need a light back to Milton's paradise
Keep me oh Lord, out of sorrow's bite

In pain I'm chained in the deepest of darkness
Mist and shadows! Am lost in the abyss
I wait for rescue, till an angel comes
For the saving angel who may never come

Beyond all doubt, am hoping beyond hope
I may sound morbid, yet it helps to cope
I'm casting anchor, this voyage has been long
Don't get me wrong! It's just a song

What a beautiful way to tell of failing plights only to burst our bubbles at the end with it's just a song'. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
