A World I Will Never See Poem by Vanessa Stallings

A World I Will Never See

In a world I will never see,
Amidst shadows, I yearn to be free.
Where the moon weaves tales of mystery,
And the stars paint galaxies for me.

Through the smoky haze of the Mississippi,
Songs of sorrow embrace endlessly,
Whispering secrets of forgotten history,
A melodic symphony, a soulful decree.

On deserted streets, melodies unfold,
Like a river's current, powerful yet cold,
I'm just a wanderer, searching for gold,
In the heart of darkness, where legends are told.

In the depths of Bayou, temptations entice,
With voodoo magic and forbidden spice,
I'm entangled in this nocturnal vice,
A dance with demons beneath endless night.

Beneath magnolia trees, dripping with dew,
Tales of lost lovers, lingering and true,
I paint my world with hues of cobalt blue,
Aching for a vision of what I never knew.

The bourbon flows like a river so deep,
As the angel of blues sings me to sleep,
In this world I cannot physically keep,
But through verses, my soul shall forever seep.

Oh, the places I long to explore,
In a world I will never know for sure,
But through my words, I can endure,
The blues, my solace, my only cure.

So, let me wander these forgotten roads,
With my guitar and stories to be told,
For in the blues, my spirit forever abodes,
A world I will never see, yet intimately behold.
