A World Of Social Media Poem by Dean Bottomlley

A World Of Social Media

Must get on Facebook right away.
Tell the world what I did today.
Millions of friends with nothing to say.
But no-one dare say goodbye.

Old man sits in a worn out chair,
With nothing to do but wait and stare.
There's nobody left who now will care,
And no-one to say goodbye.

Deep stabbed boy slumped on a wall.
Life departing, he starts to fall.
Nobody hears his gurgling call,
And no-one to say goodbye.

Beautiful girl has lost her charm.
Body ruined with years of self-harm.
Heroine needle hangs from her arm
And no-one to say goodbye.

The abused youth cannot absolve.
Self-hating cancer took time to evolve.
Now he waits for the pills to dissolve
And no-one to say goodbye.
