Abandonment Poem by Kai Ford

Abandonment

Nothing reminds you you're still alive like abandonment.
I mean NOTHING!
I cannot recall a feeling that feels like this
nor can I properly describe what it awakens in me.
I have nothing to compare it to.
This thing called abandonment reminds the soul the importance of guarding your heart
I thought I carried more weight
but
not
so.
Abandonment is far heavier, far ruthless and far too important to this man.
I surrender.
It wins!
