About Love Poem by Elif Begum Koc

About Love

What is it that you want
You keep pushing me away
How will I ever figure
When it is vague as f*ck
Even harder to let go

Chasers don't get caught they say
What if I wanna be found
By something dreamy and phenomenal
You know ı need that one thing
That one thing to keep my head over heels

You know where to find me
Right there, behind you
Whispering into your soul
Not an angel I promise
But might become one if you let me

Behind all those vows you made
Abandoned me with all this mess
I wonder if you love me back
It ain't as if I'm begging you
But please do come over some time

Did you think of me after
After all that has happened
Not asking for a friend but myself
This is a broken soul but willing
Desperately craving for that four-lettered word

Dazzled in a daydream
Leaves shatter like they are broken glasses
Aren't you tired of running
Cos I'm done chasing
Meet me in the middle, will you

She can wait for a little more
But what's the point in waiting
When it is meant to be sooner
Bleeding inside out, exhausted
Don't keep me waiting, surrender

I need that glimmer of hope
Shining upon me, telling it never left
Deliriously walking inside your brain
For you
So hard to find
Torturous to leave behind
