About Me - Poem by Vishnu P. Joshi

I am not Robert Frost;
Nor am I Langston Hughes;
Just a small pebble I am
From the Indian Ocean.

Unlike Langston Hughes,
I bathed only in the Ganges;
I did not raise pyramids, I built only castles
In the sands of the Indian Ocean;

In those castles
Little little sparrows built their nests,
They dreamt Gandhi's Dream
Of Justice and Equality for all.

From my heary I worship INDIA
For its Eastern Thoughts, and
From my soul I worship America
For its Democracy, Justice and Equality.

    A great self identification with national pride. Love you.
