About The Oak Table Poem Number Two

Rating: 5.0

it has been raining for nine days.
evenings extend indefinitely.
a single candlelight adds a soft touch
to this room. tranquilizes it.
we are drinking tea at the table.
your fingers tracing its pattern
hypnotizing me. we don’t need words.
maybe for one prayer.
to extend our time into the next hour,
the next tomorrow.
trees around us singing novenas.
