Absurd - Poem by Alc Harris

Pinch me
maybe I'll wake up
to an awfully bad joke
Yes, it was all just a ruse
meant to amuse
not shaken and jolt
not hit like a bolt
my stomach
as it flips

Pinch me
this must be a dream
not wholly real
Am I floating on air
do I dare
look down at my feet
and see that they meet
the cold kitchen floor

I am sleeping no more

Pinch me
and if it really hurts
I will know that its true
will know what its worth

How the truth looks absurd
from inside and out

The more you sleep and supposedly wake the less you'll stuggle with pinching as a remedy. Great poem nonetheless. Richard (Report) Reply
