Acknowledged Love
The sun illuminates the world,
Not because I say so, but because
The sun is the sun,
And that is what the sun does.
The moon brightens the midnight sky,
Not because I tell it to,
But because the moon is the moon,
And that is what the moon must do.
Out of my control-
The grass will grow, The wind will blow
The ships will sail, the young will wail
And everything will die including I.
So realize now, before I go,
That these miracles happen-
Not because I tell it to;
But because it does.
I acknowledge these things,
As I acknowledge you, my love.
That you are worth everything I give
That you are a miracle,
Nonetheless, you are my miracle.
