Adúmáadán Poem by Micheal Olaniyi

Adúmáadán

In wonders of the mysterious sea
Closer I went in amazement
But then came the tide
That swept away my feet

Omidan eleje Tutu o!
Adumaadan eleyinju ege

The early morning rays
I wanted to behold
But something strange
Visualised through the window.

Omidan eleje Tutu o!
Adumaadan eleyinju ege

My heart jumped in my throat
And I flushed with a gulp of spit
Lost in the gaze
Of someone not unlike an Angel

Omidan eleje Tutu o!
Adumaadan eleyinju ege

So, a no blind man
Can still be crushed by a train,
Truly, a no mad man
Can still be insane.

Omidan eleje Tutu o!
Adumaadan eleyinju ege

Cruel beauty I was looking
'Till I smashed my head
At the nearest burglary
still in the scene smiling.

Omidan eleje Tutu o!
Adumaadan eleyinju ege

Indeed...looking for character
But beauty poured forth
Clean and soulful water
To wash away my feet.
