Admiration Poem by Nick Patrick

Admiration

Nothing that is known can compare
To the pleasures of pure admiration
The coliseum is open, completely bare
Evicted from oneself is every damnation
Spinning like a top, no signs of a care
What a perplexing feeling, this astute sensation

Blending ego archetypes is surely needed
To truly grasp the reality of the meaning
Reverence is permanent, so deeply seeded
The grass that was once brown is likely greening
For to have such an impression be so heeded
The passion evoked must never be leaning

You are the flame that ignites my candle
The heat in the tundra, the breath of my life
May this forever be more than I can handle
Let it slice through my bones like butter to a knife
You have cracked the safe you fearless vandal
Light me up evermore and destroy me, dear wife
