After 8 At Night In The Shire Poem by Justin Gildow

After 8 At Night In The Shire

Rating: 5.0

It's a little after 8 at night in the shire
And at Globe Theatre everyone's singing, dancing, and acknowledging
While enjoying Finale In Song

I'm usually in front and sharing in all the merriment with many others
But on this night
I'll leave that euphoria to anyone and everyone else

Being dressed warmly in costume
I take one last stroll through the many paths and walkways
Saying goodnight or bidding farewell to a few of the many that are cleaning up or just taking in the night

As I sit on a bench by the gates
After 8 at night in the shire
I look up at the sky
And I smile
And I realize how happy and blessed I am to be here tonight
