After All Is Said And Done: An Answer Poem by Celt Merlyn

After All Is Said And Done: An Answer

Rating: 5.0

Memories of memories are all I have
Of things so unimportant at the time
Trivial, minor, no one should even remember
I do- I cling to the little things

To push back the pain of the present
I remember the little gems of yesterday
These things are more vivid to me
Than the important memories

Stories to myself, fragments of conversations
I wonder if my friends replay the past like me
Memories that still make me smile
And takes me away from the stasis of the day

In the end, it’s the only thing that does matter
